This is a bit of a throwback really, since I didn't post this back when I made them. This was done back in 2022.
I offered to make the wedding cakes for my friends who were getting married, and they accepted.
So I decided to go as overboard as I could with my skill level.
I made 5 different cakes they are:
Left: sticky toffee cake with creme mousseline as the frosting
Center: carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
Right: chocolate cake with caramelized white chocolate swiss meringue buttercream
Top lower-tier: chocolate orange cake with chocolate orange Swiss meringue buttercream, and milk chocolate cigarelllos and candies orange slices as the decoration
Top upper-tier: mint chocolate cake with mint chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream, with chocolate shavings and a few sprigs of candied mint as decoration
It was quite literally an entire day of work to get everything ready.
And the cake stand was made by another mutual friend.

cakes sound delicious! but honestly a little creeped out with the cakestand….looks like it’s going to get up and start walking around on those feet.

I’m very curious, however, about how they were served. Was each cake transported to a second table for cutting? Did the catering crew — or family members, whoever— just start with slices of each?? Were ladders involved?? Did the happy couple take the top tier of the top cake and freeze it for their first anniversary, or just scarf it later that night???
I’m joking a bit, but I’m still slightly salty about getting one tiny piece of a cake I made for a family member’s wedding. It was great that everyone enjoyed themselves but they wiped that cake out! The couple took a smaller matching cake, but that was as intended, I can’t exactly complain it, lol.
