I realize this is probably my fault as I don’t clean my grill nearly as often as I should (BUT IT ADDS FLAVOR!!!) but I now have a hole in the front where fire shoots out. I’m wondering two things: 1) is this dangerous, and 2)can it be repaired.

And 2a, I guess, should I bother repairing? It’s 12 years old, I’m probably going to need to replace the burners too. Do I just get a new one?

So far I haven’t noticed any major impact, other than having to be more careful where I put my hand when I open the top.

How old is that grill? Could be a warranty claim

That’s where you light your cigarette

I have the same issue beginning with mine. I personally plan on just riding it out as long as possible before I eventually replace the whole grill. I did purchase a Weber kettle around Christmas, and now do the majority of my cooking on that. So with the new addition, I probably added a few more years on my Weber genesis since it’s not heating up as often… good luck!

I had the same thing happen to the cook box on my 2008 model. I bought a new one in 2023. Not a bad run though – I grill a lot.

Depends on the model what the warranty would be. Register it with Weber and see what the warranty is.
