After baking bread for more than 10 years, I decided to make my first video. And the bread I chose for this first milestone is none other than one of the most iconic Sicilian breads.

It is made with semola which gives it an amazing fulfilling taste. The bread itself is dense but still fluffy and soft which makes it perfect to pair with pretty much anything.

Pane Siciliano has two other popular shapes which I intend to cover in another video but for me personally this is the most interesting and iconic.

A simple combination of flour, yeast, salt, sugar, oil and water gives us this simple, but ancient delicacy which everyone can make.

I truly hope you can learn something from this video and with it, you can make the bread for yourself, your friends or your family.

The ingredients needed for the bread are as follows:

300g (2.5 cups) all purpose flour
300g (2.5 cups) semola rimacinatta or double milled durum what flour
300ml (1¼ cup) lukewarm water
2 Tablespoons Olive oil
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry yeast

for the egg wash you will need….. one egg and sesame to top it all off.

You can follow the instructions in the video to easily make this tasty bread.

This should be the beginning of documenting my breadmaking journey and hope to have you with me along the way!
