94 Mosel. One of those immortal vintages.
Benedict Loosen Erben (a cousin or something to Dr Loosen). Not a particularly coveted producer, also not bad at all.
Been through a vertical of this his Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese from 89 through 94. The 94 pictured surely the most fascinating amongst them.
Insane acidity!! There is sweetness too, but hardly one recognises it behind that lemon/lime attack.
No petro, medium length, somewhat one-dimensional.
But a wine you just want to gulp in large mouthfuls.
Bought for next to nothing (15€) straight from the domaine cellars.

I’m a slut for acid
Nice. Did you buy it recently? Might have to pay them a visit.
