A friend of ours had a gathering last night as he does every year. Strong lineup of Champagne. The Heidsieck was my and my buddy's winner. The Veuve was too far past it's prime.

Thats unfortunate about the Veuve. 1990 isn’t that old for champagne. Other reviews indicate the same as OP. Just not a great vintage for age.
