I saw a lot of callouts on this sub for Rombauer as a super buttery Chardonnay, and it did not disappoint. Makes for a great movie night with a tub of homemade popcorn. If cougar juice is wrong, I don’t want to be right 😂
Taste is creamy (and yes, buttery), but with some nice notes of pineapple and stone fruit. Pretty sure this was made to be a movie night wine. Definitely not one I’d serve with a meal, but really fun in this context!

Wines like that are why I hated Chardonnay for 30 years until I went to Bourgogne and tasted properly made Chardonnay for the first time.
Objectively shitty wine and I fucking love it sometimes.

I had to dump my glass out. The 2023 vintage will please all cougars with its unbalanced buttery taste. Rombauer has no shame when it comes this Chardonnay.
One of my favorite Chards…Ridge and Koehler make excellent Chards as well.
If any of you do a tasting at Hudson Ranch, they serve their superb Chardonnay with their popcorn in estate olive oil. An elevated experience
I don’t like buttery Chardonnay but I love Rombauer Chardonnay. It has a beautifully bright acidity.
