No brine, no marinade. Removed from fridge 2 hrs before cooking. Salt pepper and Montreal. Must say, it looks waaaay better than my first several attempts. It was delicious.

Looks great. My firstborn always loved steak and eggs when he was young. Still has fond memories of those days

Your son did amazing! How old is he? My 18yo son loves cooking his own steak. Unfortunately he slathers on so much sugary seasonings and marinades that afterwards it takes me 10mins to scrape all the crud off the skillets…

That’s what Ron Swanson’s first steak looked like! I made it at 14 months.

I have to say, your son clearly knows what he likes!

Is he betrothed? Currently working up a proposal & dowry for my future unborn daughter so she won’t live a life with poorly cooked steak.

Steak looks good. Tell him next time lower heat on the eggs. Good eggs are about managing the temp and paying close attention.

Left out for 2 hours? I usually do one hour. But either way i feel like that’s a huge key to cooking a tender steak. This looks delicious. Your son must be a natural!
