Aka poor man's vertical.
This is my third time write this post, third times a charm.
So, I did a little (very little) vertical of André Clouet Dream Vintage (100% Chardonnay).
I drank with the wife and a couple of friends, Vintages were 2008, 2006, 2005 and 2004.
For reference, 2004 and 2005 have a dosage of 2,4 g/l, the 2006 4,8 g/l and the 2008 is not available, all spent few years on the lees.
They all share similar notes, slight oxidation, honey, ripe white fruits, a hint of licorice, typical notes of aged Chardonnay based champagne.
The 2008 had the best acidity, well integrated, and the best aging potential of the bunch, it drinks well now and probably in the next few years.
2004 is a favorite of mine, with the strongest oxidative notes, and we all loved it.
2006 had probably the best nose but was quite flat on the palate.
2005 was ok but nothing to write home about.
As a bonus (not included in the photo) we drank a Diebolt Valois Bdb, just to wash the palate lol.
A great experience with great people, few things in life are better than drinking with friends.

Sweet lineup and notes.
Out of curiosity, how was the Diebolt?
Would love to try some more Andre Clouet Champagnes. I got to try the Andre Clouet “Un jour de 1911…” and it blew my socks off. One of the best wines I’ve ever had.
