To each their own i have tried so many different methods and what i have concluded is as long as you keep the seed wet and warm it’ll germinate most of the time as long as it is viable weather you soak them or do paper towel or straight into soil I find it’s all about the same. I normally just let my seeds soak for a day or 2 then straight to soil with the tiniest amount of soil over them then put a ziplock bag over top the pot to keep humidity high. I feel like the soak doesn’t improve germination rate but it believe it softens the outside and makes it sprout a little faster i don’t know much for sure but it’s just been from years of observation. Like I say if it works for you don’t let anyone say it’s wrong. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
