  1. That’s a bit more on the rare side, but it looks pretty good to me.

  2. TremontRhino

That is on the rare side of MR, bud. Give it like 7 more degrees.

My wife won’t eat anything unless it’s well done. She flat out refused to try my med-rare chicken 😤

It’s VERY rare, dude. You and I might like it this way, but it’s not unreasonable to want it cooked a little more. Cook your girl’s steak the way she likes it.

  6. That is pretty rare. Looks like you blasting the shit out of the outside and not really getting the inside at all. But I am not going to criticize, if that’s how you like it then you do you 👍🏻

  7. eesland12

That’s raw bro. I can still hear it moooooooiinnnggg

“ermmmmm achually that’s not medium ra-” Who cares. That steak is beautiful.

A thermometer would tell the real story but looks a little closer to the rare side of medium rare. Definitely looks delicious.

That’s not medium rare. That’s rare. If she wants it a true medium rare what’s the problem? Medium rare is the “accepted” standard right, if you can’t cook a steak medium rare that’s your fault, not hers. I’m not a fan of rare steaks. I’d almost prefer a steak medium well than rare. The texture of the uncooked meat in the center is off to me, ruins it. I wouldn’t personally want to eat that, I get where she’s coming from.

I like mine medium rare. I can do 3-4 pieces then id want to cook the rest a lil more hahaha

  12.  Dump her ass she cra cra… just kidding. Med rare is the ideal temperature for steaks.

It is kind of rare looking. I would still enjoy it though.

  14. Steak or tuna? Scrolled down to find the actual sub. Surprised I’m first to say it.

  15. Aggravating_Job_4651

That would be considered medium well at a steakhouse.

  16. I don’t know why the sub has been recommended to me so much lately, and I’ll say this one more time before I block it.

You need to let the steak sit out for an hour and come to room temperature before you cook it. The inner meat just beyond the crust is being cooked to well done before the center is medium rare. Nothing wrong with medium-rare or even rare, but when the outer third of meat is well done, you’re doing it wrong.

I don’t want to repeat myself till the end of time so peace out r/steak.

Ain’t nothing medium about that rarity. Good sear though, gahdamn.

  18. effectivehearing7

Kinda impressive how charred it is w how rare…. I’m guessing it never saw the inside of an oven… someone mentioned that it was probably cold af

Looks like your steak is starting out too cold, which is why you have very well done edges but it’s still raw in the middle. I recommend letting the steak come to room temp before cooking, so you can get a more even medium rare throughout.

  20. Why don’t you start using a thermometer before calling any cook level to your stake.
