If you’ve worked up an appetite after unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning, a handful of restaurants in El Paso are serving up a festive feast throughout the day.
While most stores and eateries are closed on Christmas, there are some options for grabbing a bite. Whether you’re in the mood for brunch, complete with a steaming plate of red tamales, or prefer an elegant three-course dinner in the heart of El Paso, we have you covered.
Here’s a list of restaurants open on Christmas Day:
Ambar Restaurante
The restaurant, located inside the Plaza Hotel in Downtown El Paso, is showcasing its Latin flair with red chile tamales and mezcal glazed ham, in addition to a holiday cocktail, Beso de Muérdago.
Christmas brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., along with live music and other seasonal dishes. The cost is $65 for adults and $32.50 for children ages 6-12.

Kona Grill
The chain is open for Christmas and is serving seasonal holiday cocktails, turkey, and prime rib on Christmas Eve and Day.
Cocktails include “Santa’s Egg Nog” and a “Holiday Martini.” The menu is kid-friendly, with a smaller portion of roasted turkey, mac and cheese, and green beans for $16. Adult entrees cost $35 to $43.
Kona Grill is located at the Fountains at Farah and reservations can be made through OpenTable.
Cattleman’s Steakhouse
The steakhouse, situated on a working ranch in Fabens, will be open Christmas Day from 2 to 10 p.m. with your favorite cut of meat and the usual all-you-can-eat spicy ranch beans, pineapple coleslaw and fresh bread and butter.

1700 Steakhouse
If you prefer a fine dining experience on the holiday, you can enjoy Christmas dinner in an elegant atmosphere with specially curated dishes celebrating the flavors of the season.
1700 Steakhouse is offering a three-course meal at $125. The starter, main course, which includes prime rib and ahi tuna, and dessert are available. The restaurant is inside the Hotel Paso Del Norte, 10 Henry Trost Court, in Downtown El Paso.

Andale Mexican Restaurant and Cantina
The lively Mexican restaurant at 9201 Gateway Blvd. in Central El Paso is open for Christmas from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In addition to a colorful menu featuring caldos, salads, seafood, authentic Mexican plates, steaks and desserts, the restaurant will also have live music to celebrate the festivities.
West Texas Chophouse
All three locations (Cimarron, Airway, Palmas) will be open in El Paso on Christmas Eve, however only the Cimarron in West El Paso will be open on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
