I’m hosting a “around the world” wine night with 14 guests and 14 bottles. Very causal, low to mid priced bottles, we are all mid 20’s and I’m the most “educated” about wines in the friend group. What do y’all think of my choices?

Honestly looks cool and looks like fun. Doesnt always need to be super expensive flex bottles, this is a cool way to begin exploring each country

This is fine. Ditch the Rodney Strong I’d say. Otherwise you boys have a nice time.

  3. I’m a sucker for the Ste Michele Riesling at $10, tbh. The Duckhorn chard is a good pick too. This is a great mix of wines to taste!

I had the Reserva Valserrano Rioja a few nights ago and enjoyed it

If you’re inclined to try another moscato, see if your Total Wine has Chiarlo Nivole. It’s an absolute steal for $20.

King maui is always solid same with Valserrano. Koskil is a bit too high acid for my palette but seems like a fun time. Have a good night!

King Maui is really good! They have a reserved bottle that is maybe 1-2$ more and it’s also really good! Chateau Michelle is always delicious. One of my favorites.

Around the world and 36% murican wines?

Swanson Merlot is delicious. I bet it’d pair nicely with those frozen Swanson beef pot pies.

The variety of regions and varieties is great!

  11. I actually know some of these! A lot of the wines that get talked about here I’ve never seen so I love seeing this. 😊 I agree with another about the Ste Michele Riesling – I haven’t had it in a while but it used to be a go to for my hubs and me.

I’m a fan of the Renieri Invetro, despite their glass corks. Their Rosso di Montalcino is a steal at $20ish.

All really solid budget wines, especially for your average consumer.

King Maui is very crisp and refreshing! My go-to for parties during the summer (chilled, of course).

My wife enjoys the dessert wines so I’m familiar with the Chateau St Michelle and the Risata, both are a good choice for those who enjoy a sweeter side.

I personally can’t drink more than one glass of the Risata but the dryer CSM is good for two or three.

The German Riesling has piqued my curiosity, please post some tasting notes in a follow up.
