From a half bottle, poured a quarter of it from a Coravin between two glasses. This was our dessert after a lovely homemade Valentine's Day dinner.
Drank on its own, as well as with two different desserts.
Notes of orange marmalade, apricot, honeycomb, clove, cardamom. Syrupy and viscous texture and a finish that lingers, in a good way.
This is an absolutely beautiful wine.
Drank well solo, as well as with olive oil ice cream and chocolate covered strawberries.
This feels like it could be timeless and go on for decades.
I don't know how to score this, because even at its best, I still enjoy this less than red wines. Perhaps, I need a separate score for white, separate score for reds, and separate score for dessert wines.
As a dessert wine, this is probably a 96+ point wine.

I’m a big fan of Yquem, and I understand everyone has their own preferences.
I’m curious about your experience with Coravin systems on older wines. I’ve heard conflicting reports regarding their effectiveness on fragile corks, and I’m weighing it against using a Vacu Vin. Have you encountered any issues with Coravin and aged wines?
That got 100 points that did.
This is an epic recent vintage. I cannot wait to try some 2001 sauternes. Have my eyes on a Suduiraut since the dYquem is beyond my price range! Glad you enjoyed it.
New to sub. Never heard of it.
If the 2001 Yquem is only 96, I don’t think you like Sauternes that much haha
I just have the Rieusec in the same vintage recently and It already blow my mind. Can’t imagine if I try this 🥵
The half bottle of d’Yquem is more than enough for two people. I had a party of four and there was more than enough for everyone, even those who wanted a refill. The full bottles are nice to age but I never find an opportunity to open them because you need a large dinner party to go through an entire bottle.
