Keith Urban puts on free, ‘loose’ show for fans at Buc-ee’s store
Country star Keith Urban surprised fans at an Alabama Buc-ee’s with a pop-up concert that drew out hundreds of spectators.
Whether it’s because you’re traveling this holiday or you want something different for your Thanksgiving meal, stopping at Buc-ee’s might be a fun idea.
The beloved gas station/convenience store chain has always been known for its good food, and this time of year, they even have some Thanksgiving-friendly options.
In addition to pulled pork and brisket sandwiches at the carving station, customers can now pick up a sliced turkey sandwich for about $8, a small bowl of peach cobbler for about $3, and an apple pie treat similar to those at McDonald’s for about $2. They are all hot and ready.
Turkey and brisket are also available in larger quantities among the smoked meats. They are sold by the pound in one-pound minimums for about $19 per pound of turkey, $22 for chopped brisket, $26 for sliced brisket. Does it need something extra? Buc-ee’s has its own collection of seasonings and sauces sold by the bottle.
But what about sides? Well, there aren’t as many hot and fresh sides available except homestyle potato chips. However, if you’re taking your Buc-ee’s Thanksgiving dinner home, one of the home goods sections has boxed Kraft mac and cheese, canned corn, canned green beans, and similar travel-ready sides. This section also has disposable plates, napkins, cups, and cutlery if you don’t want to clean up your dishes afterwards.
As for dessert, there are a lot more options outside the cobbler and pie. Buc-ee’s has a whole homemade fudge section and they come in a variety of flavors from chocolate pecan and Rocky Road to peanut butter and key lime pie. There are also banana puddings plus several candy options including Buc-ee’s OverBites (thick disc-shaped chocolates imprinted with the face of the chain’s beaver mascot).
To wash it all down, Buc-ee’s has a selection of red and white wines that (as of Nov. 8) were selling for 10% off their listed prices. There are also plenty of options for beer, sodas, and juices.
Buc-ee’s currently has two locations in Georgia, one in Fort Valley and one in Adairsville. A third is in development in Brunswick while a fourth has been reported for just outside Macon. Another could be in the works in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Want to plan a trip? Go to buc-ees.com for more information.
