As the title suggests, this is my first time growing hot peppers from seed. These are a combination of fish peppers, scotch bonnets, and chocolate 7 pots, that I recently moved from their starting cells about a week ago. I am just curious how you all think they’re looking so far. Is the yellowing in the leaves anything to worry about, or are they just in shock from the transplant?

They look good to me. Should probably move them to bigger containers soon

Looking good to me. The fish starting out white/variegated is refreshing to see. You’ve bought a good amount of time now that you’ve given them some space. They might still need time to adjust to the transplant is all. Maybe another week.

I don’t know about the yellowing. Some may suggest some kind of nutrient issue, but IMO sometimes some leaves just do that. You can’t save ’em all. If your soil has nutrients or you’re fertilizing (fully or by fractions, like quarter-dose, etc) then they’re fine. I’ve had plants perform 100% without even caring much about nutrients. I’d keep an eye, though – not just on the yellow leaves, but the center-right one’s curling of leaves. It could come from a variety of causes, most-non-serious and easily-remedied.

What I can tell from this pic, on another note, is that you don’t appear to have pests. The cotyledons I see show no evidence of such, nor to the true leaves. Still, you should lift up and fully inspect your plants daily just to be sure.

I suspect you have a fan, too? The stem on the bottom-center Bonnet looks real thick. Nice.

  3. They look awesome. If new pairs of leaves grow out lighter, you might have a nitrogen deficiency, or your growing medium might have too high a pH. A drop of vinegar in the water could fix it.
