How to Make Middle Eastern Pink Pickled Turnips:

→ Start by mixing hot water, white distilled vinegar, sugar, and kosher salt in a measuring cup, stirring until everything dissolves.
→ In a clean mason jar, layer the turnips, beets, and garlic—starting with a handful of turnips, followed by a few pieces of beet and a slice of garlic.
→ Repeat until the jar is nearly full, gently pressing everything down to fit.
→ Add a bay leaf and some peppercorns for extra flavor.
→Pour the prepared vinegar mixture over the vegetables, making sure they are completely submerged while leaving a little space at the top.
→Seal the jar tightly and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating. → The flavors will start developing in a few days, but for the best taste, let them sit for about a week.
