Let’s give this a go even if it’s the first time for us having a bottle older than 5 years.

    Initial Impression:
The wine presents a deep, purple-red hue – youthfully vibrant. The first pour had a pronounced tartness on the palate and an aromatic burst of fruit.

    Decantation Evolution:
Half a bottle was decanted for 30 minutes with brief 10-second bouts of agitation at 5- to 10-minute intervals. wine to open up beautifully, softening its acidity and unveiling a delicate layer of fruity sweetness. Over time, subtle floral nuances emerged

    Comparison of Servings:
The decanted portion became more rounded, smooth and retained a harmonious balance of fruity and florals. The straight-from-the-bottle pour maintained its original, brisk tartness with a more concentrated fruit profile.

    Overall Impression:
A wine that gracefully transitions with decantation, offering dual expressions: a vibrant, tart character in its original state, and a more integrated, floral, and fruity taste after decanting.

04 was a good year from memory for this legend. It’s a wine that can be a touch marmite but it certainly has a strong following (I am one of them!).

04 remains in the ‘developing’ phase though it does show all of the musar hallmarks. Glad you enjoyed it and appreciated the complexity this wine offers 👌👌
