Has anybody used one of these yet? Seems like a lot of smoker for $999. Considering buying one. Is it worth the extra $500 for an induction burner and base cabinet?

This is my first time seeing this but glad to see traeger is attempting to modernize.
I’m not seeing much about the controller on their website other than that it has wifi…anyone know any details like PID?

do you use a side burner? And by that I mean, if you don’t have one, have you had to resort to buying a portable one and setting it up nearby? It’s a nice add, but not something I have every seen anyone actually use. But that might be a ‘just me’ and my bubble kinda thing.
As for the cabinet. . . all I ever do with those is store probes and like and that thing has a space for those in the hopper. Frankly, I like the open method cause I can put a bag of pellets down there. or the grills, but all the grills hang on the sides of that thing.
Frankly, I love the re-engineered features. I could care less about the hanging hooks, but putting a baffle on the burn pit that ISN’T doubling as the grease tray? brilliant. That way grease doesn’t burn to the grease diverter. and the grease/ash trap? brilliant. just wipe it down. No more vacuum bullcrap.
If only I actually smoked stuff anymore.

This is in response to them dropping $2500+ grills right after Covid after the market dropped out. Traeger is in bad shape. They pushed this out as fast as they could to save the brand. The company loses millions per quarter. I’m guessing this was rushed out the door.
I haven’t used this cooker yet, but I would bet the box is real light.
