Close the vents, put the lid on, save the leftover coals for next cook. Skip the veggies, obviously.

Remove the bun, close the vents put on the lid and the coals will go out and will be ready for next BBQ.

It’s a curse isn’t it? I used to stand and stare for a bit before I walked away…like I’m abandoning something lol.
Now once I’m done with the cook I put the lid on and close the vents. I reuse the leftover charcoal by tossing it on top of my chimney when making a new batch. It’s not all useable but I feel like I’m at least making an attempt. 😂

That’s why you’ve got to get a gasser too. I usually use the gas for daily, weeknight cooks and then the kettle for longer bbq type cooking when I have more time on the weekends.

My charcoal grill is down at my pool. I usually take my coals and dump them into my fire pit and start the evening/night festivities.

This happened to me the other night. I threw on some bell peppers and jalapeños. Let em grill while we ate, then sliced em up for sandwiches during the week.
