It’s getting harder and harder to find a good gan-jjajang (a kind of jjajang sauce that omits most of the water/broth in favor of a stronger flavor from the chunjang), but I was very pleasantly surprised by Joong Koog Jip’s rendition. Plenty of texture from the onion and squash still crisp from the wok hei, good-sized bites of fatty pork, and a good value for money. Worth the trek out here IMO.

Sold! See you there this weekend.

Unless there’s another place you would recommend? I’m hardcore craving Korean Chinese

  3. This is my go to here. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The tangsooyuk is delicious every single time

Oof one can never have too much of good ‘ol 짜장면.

  5. Is this the one in Murray Hill? Or the one on Northern? Are they related?

I’ve been wanting to check out Korean-Chinese food for a while, so this might be my sign to do it. What else should be ordered? Classic things not to be missed, etc?

Are those cucumbers or zucchini? I also need to try the western onions with it.

Is it regular brown sauce or sweet flour sauce that they use?

They’re still the best but their portions are getting smaller.
