I love my lot. They might be an odd bunch but we get the job done well and we have laugh on and off shift.

  1. “We’re on a mission from cod!” — those particular Caribbean cooks, The Blues (crabs) brothers

It’s weird to say this but all my cooks are relatively good looking, they’re short but 5’7 + cooks great = 5’10 at least

I like to think as I’m growing up in kitchens I’m starting to look a little better. But I’m probably looking worse tbh lol

Looks like a cover photo for an episode of soft white underbelly. I guess I’m not actually that surprised

One of them needs to be Hispanic or a Filipino that everybody assumes is Mexican for some reason

As the only woman BOH right now, I say (to myself) that I work at The Hotel California. Because “I have a lot of pretty pretty boys, that I call friends” 🎶

I once heard someone say the movie Chef was unrealistic bc in what world does John favreau get to date Scarlett Johansson and be married to Sophia Vergara (twice.) that person had clearly never had the kind of food a chef if that caliber is capable of making.

Being a good goes a long, long ways.

I cringe when cooks compare themselves to pirates. I also hate the term “in the trenches”.

Me chef looks like a recovering meth addict on bad days, and has a resting bitch face. Which might not be too off the mark since he’s a hardcore music fan, and…”does substances” at those events. (Though only at the events) He’s a patient, hard working, and kind chef though.

Had a coworker with a slightly messed up face and a huge speech impediment as well. (I think it was from an accident?) Funny thing was I could often understand him better than another coworker without impediment. (but whom always manages to talk just when a loud noise happens, or talks too softly, and has some weird pronunciation of words here and there.)

We currently also have an, I think, temporary HUGE Ukranian guy. Kinda fat, broad build overall, yet very tall as well. Hard to communicate with him since he doesn’t speak my native language and barely a few words of English, but when we have stations next to each other he always enjoys listening to my music. 😛 (Hardcore, rock, metal, psy trans, etc) Whenever I go for a smoke I take my phone with me, and when I come back he’ll go “Musika! Musika!” as he wants me to turn the music back on. 😛
