Made this for my sick gf. She said it’s too bland but look how beautiful it is.

Hope your girlfriend feels better soon. Wishes from me. 💐🙏

  2. I recommend you remove the stems from the shitake, save them for stock.
    Slice the mushroom caps thin.

It’ll help a bit with the eating experience

That is beautiful and mouth-watering. I feel like I would be able to savor that even with the tongue-killing covid variant.

bland? the lunch and dinner i eat here is worse than bland. she sounds kinda privileged…i would absolutely devour that shit..

I don’t think it’s bland . Her taste buds are off because she’s sick . Looks amazing

I would literally d1e for this!! 😭 hope she feels better soon

It’s probably not. She’s just sick, that’s all. Make it for her again when she feels better and hear what she says.

  8. This is gonna get downvoted, but I’m sorry they called your food bland after all your effort. (That would hurt my feelings tbh.) But it looks so good! I’d eat it!

Oh my goodness that looks so good!! If my bf made me something that looks this good I would just eat without complaining about it being bland, just add some salt and pepper

Could definitely be because she’s sick. I noticed my ramen broth being slightly bland, and I’m terrible at making broths. I bought some ramen seasoning powder (Samabila brand) to add and it made it awesome. Adding spicy kimchee also really makes the broth taste great.

This looks incredibly tasty. I hope your gf gets better soon and experiences the mouthwatering taste of this ramen.

Add red pepper flakes and a dash of habenero sauce. Guarantee she’ll taste that

  13. Webinskie71

Probably tastes bland cuz her senses are off.. 👃

It looks nice. Idk if it’s actually bland or not. Despite what others are saying here some people don’t always loose their sense of taste when they get sick, I never have, but some people do. I find it weird to just assume she lost her sense of taste with no evidence that it is actually true. At the end of the day there are ways to add more flavor and just eating something typically does make most people feel better when they are sick.

Why is she complaining about bland taste when she had a nice meal given to her, when she was sick ? She can’t taste anything due to be being sick.

When I first started making ramen, my broth would taste bland. I then learned how much of a difference tare can make, and how complex they can be.

Your gf must be old money rich and is used to high class meals because there’s nothing bland about that

Add some chilli oil to it (rayu) you can create it easily at home it goes really well with ramen. Also you could try increasing tare a bit

Hear me out: it looks decent BUT the veggies look boiled in plain water which washes away the little flavor they have, and corn and broccoli are known for their lack of flavor and how hard it is to give them flavor. I’m no expert but I know how to eat and in all honesty, it looks bland and sad! Don’t take it personal but this is my opinion.

  20. cottonrainbows

Probably too bland cause she’s lost her taste to being sick. Looks great

  21. rosyrosella

It looks very delicious tho! I hope she feels better soon.

  22. Purcival_

Add some fried chili oil or a sprinkle of soy sauce id she still thinks it’s bland she might have covid lol

  23. shivakanou

Ignore her, she’s delusional. But hey, share the recipe?

  24. Certain-Editor9632

Looks delicious to me. What’s the broth made of?
