Wow, this was exceptional. So excited to spend the next ~60 years chasing Dujac, I’m in danger.
I knew this was young, but I’ve picked up a couple Dujac bottling and wanted to make sure I liked the style before I continued. Literally 0 regrets, this thing ROCKED last night. Decanted for a couple hours upon opening, but did have a tiny glass right away and it was a total fruit bomb. Loads of red fruit exploding in the glass. A couple hours in, it almost shut down a bit and showed more of its tannin and got really tight and less expressive. By hour 5, this was absolutely singing. The tannins pulled back a bit but still retained the green backbone, definitely picked up on their love of stems. Nose was so floral, lots of red roses. Palate was simultaneously smooth delicate and muscular, felt like I was drinking an oxymoron. Easily one of the best village level wines I’ve opened.
As a quick aside, this wine reminded me of how silly the scoring is by critics in burgundy especially. Morris gave this a 90-91??? This wine is far better than many I’ve tried rated far higher. Producer over everything, I guess. Nice reminder.

Feels good having a bottle of their 2019 Charmes. Super nice wines. The whites as well.
fuck yes these wines are so absurdly good. Got a few waiting for the right moment
Can I just say that not only do you have good taste in wine, you also have good taste in air fryer-ovens.
Agreed on wine scores for burgundy. It’s like they’re only rated against each other, rather than all wines.
