In 2019, my wife and I purchased a Vertuo Plus, which, despite occasional issues with a stubborn descaling mode, served us admirably. When we discovered a Vertuo Next on a significant sale at Costco, we were enticed to upgrade, even though our existing Vertuo Plus was functioning perfectly. In my eagerness to try the new machine, I sold the older one for a nominal sum, feeling it had served its purpose. However, upon unboxing the Vertuo Next, I was immediately disappointed by its noticeably plastic construction. I resigned myself to using it, but I sorely missed the motorized opening mechanism of the Vertuo Plus, a feature no other machine seemed to replicate. Regrettably, the Vertuo Next soon developed a leak from the nozzle. While I initially considered contacting Nespresso for assistance, I ultimately decided to leverage Costco's generous return policy for defective items. I returned the Vertuo Next and promptly repurchased a Vertuo Plus in a vibrant red. We are absolutely delighted to have it back, and we hope it will provide us with several more years of reliable service.

I had same experience with the Plus. It lasted 5-6 years. Just recently replaced it with another Plus. After reading how many people seem to have issues with the other models, I’m glad I stuck with the Plus. Congrats on your replacement machine. Now, back to enjoying delicious ☕️

  2. The plus is the highest upgrade before you get to the creatisa

I never hestated for amoment to replace our Plus when the thermoblock died. It was six years old almost to the day. Present unit is going on three– wait, not, make that FOUR years. We’ll get another when it dies because my wife enjoys the motorized head.

Whew I actually read all of that. 😂. While I respect everyone’s choices in model I have to say nothing beats Expert mode and the ability to have all sizes of Nespresso drinks, which is something the Plus doesn’t offer that the Next does . I’ve had nothing but a perfect experience with my Creatista.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how often they restock the Vertuo Plus machines? I joined the family in December and I wanted the white machine and it sold out in my cart… so I got the black matte.

I just checked and three months later the white is still out of stock?

If build quality is your concern the Pixie is the only nespresso machine worth buying. It’s durable and efficient. Much better build quality and Costco also carries them

I went the same route! Had the Vertuo Plus for 2 years and loved it. Wanted to try the Next for the longer pours and carafe style. Absolutely HATED the mechanical closure. Sold it and bought another Plus. Longer pours be damned.
