I have not seen a r/wewantplates situation in a while.

At the risk of sounding American, who is Cedric Grolet? Was it worth it?

Why not? It’s been a goal of mine to visit there.

no croissant or avocado toast can ever be worth 50euro, whoever made them…

Isn’t he famous for super intricate complex desserts?
I can get a croissant and egg from any random coffee shop, but I won’t be able to find anything similar to his desserts anywhere in my country.

It’s like going to a famous steakhouse, ordering pasta carbonara and saying it’s not worth it. Okay, but this doesn’t tell me anything about the thing that place is famous for?

50 euro is expensive but it’s not that expensive considering the renown this guy has and the quality of what you’re getting. A spread like that might run you 25$ in a lot of places. So it’s double for the experience. I’d pay it.

Look, when in Paris, one must splurge. I paid $1K to eat at Guy Savoy (a bucket list item). This place is a must eat at place so good for you, mate!

The pastries look good, but this is clearly not worth 50 euros.

  9. 50e for this looks like a scam for me.
Its my usual breakfast for 3e
