Picanha $8.99/lb at Costco… Not sure why I'd buy anything else, tbh. This steak was delish.

Dry brined overnight with kosher salt, smoked at 225 until 115 inside, then finished on a cast iron pan connected to a propane tank outdoors with a little avocado oil around 500 degrees for a minute or so per side.

I have yet to do a picanha. I’m a ribeye porterhouse guy. Did fantastic tho.

  3. I’m scared of the day people catch on and picanha becomes expensive

If you wouldn’t have told us it’s your first time I would’ve had no idea. Looks beautiful.

Wish I took pics of mine, ended up looking like shit, luckily I used free steaks that I got from my last job that shut down

Your Costco has picanha? Nice! I love picanha. I’m forced to get the prime NY strip at nearly 3 times the price.

  10. That looks awesome! And delicious! Could maybe have gone a little harder on the fat cap, but really that’s a damn fine picanha.
