Hello, this would be a FB Marketplace buy for $60. Do you think it’s worth it? Also, how easy to clean and restore? Never owned a Weber. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

  1. That is a good buy. It has the nice ash catcher and temperature gage. I can’t see anything wrong with it, and they really don’t require much upkeep. It looks to me like you could be cooking on it with only a few minutes of cleanup.

Use a pumice stone on most of it, then get rid of all the leftover dust and you got a restored Weber

  3. Not much to restore, just clean.

The rust on the chimney starters is just cosmetic

Looks better than mine does at the moment and mine is only a year old…

Great pickup… minor clean up, but looks good

Restore what? Clean it if you want, if not just start cooking on it.

It looks fine other than the cooking grate. You may be able to put some time into restoring it but I’d buy a new grate.

  8. Blast it with some good ole hot water and soap & a scrub brush. Than use some cooking oil to ensure it doesn’t rust on you. its ready to go. maybe an hour or more spent cleaning. enjoy.

Isn’t it missing the metal ash cleaning spinner?

Super easy just clean the grill grate and the bowl. Other stuff doesn’t need cleaning it’ll rust no matter what you do

I got a webber that’s older than me, in not as good shape as that one, and cooks like a champ. U fine.

Hell yeah. On outside use mixture of water, vinegar, tiny bit dish soap. Should shine er up. Power wash/ sos pas the grates or they sell new grates online too like $20-$25

Restore? Give it a clean and it’s good to go.

About what my weber looked like when i got it. My grate ended up needing replace as it started to corrode, but i still have the charcoal one. You could upgrade to stainless steel or a cast iron grate if you want to. Otherwise clean it really well and cook some stuff

Just a little elbow grease and TLC and you’ll be fine 🙂

Pressure wash the whole thing and buy a new grill grate for like $35 at Home Depot and your done

You need a new grate. Most Lowe’s and Home Depots carry them. Get the version with the hinged sides, they are much easier to use.

Also, take a careful look at the chimneys. When they rust, the handle tends to come off. If it does while you’re carrying burning coals, you can get severely burnt.

Literally new grates will make this bad boy ready to cook like new
