I still struggle to add a caption with imagery…anyway, someone [cornball23] posted earlier today about vegan smoked tofu and in the comments we discussed a few of the things I’ve put on the smoker.

First image is burnt ends tofu and you can see some cabbage below that will become a more tender version of coleslaw.

Second is vegan meatballs in sauce. You can just barely make out a second dutch oven below it full of produce that went onto become a more ratatouille type of dish.

Third is skewered veggies and corn. I think that is cauliflower below it.

Fourth is the start of a smoked salsa all ingredients fresh from our garden.

Fifth is a different marinade for the burnt ends…I think more honey mustard, and the blobs that went on to get sliced up for taco night, are oyster and lions mane mushrooms. Firs you press them in a skillet then throw them on the smoker near the end. BBQ sauce or rub as desired.

Sixth is vegan stuff mushrooms on top and eggplant from the garden that became baba ganoush, and some corn.

Do you by chance have any good veg forward grill/BBQ cookbooks that you can share?

They don’t need to be perfectly vegan, but veggies should play a central role

I bought an electric smoker about a year ago because there is no where to get vegan smoked food unless you do it yourself. It’s really good for vegan hot dogs. What type of wood do you use?!
