Some of my reaper leaves have started to get a dark discolouration on the leaves, is this normal?

The crinkly leaves make me think overwatering and the dark coloration makes me think some fungal thing, but I am definitely not an expert. Couldn’t hurt to hit it with some copper fungicide though.

More info* they have just been placed into 5 gallon grow bags with fresh potting mix. Also, they have been under these new lights for a week or so. Should I lift the lights slightly? I used photone app to get a decent measurement, but maybe the plants need more time to adjust under these stronger lights?

The pink looking leaves at the bottom look like potassium deficiency. The ones on the top look like antocyanin response to light. I think you made the right choice potting up. I get the pink leaves if I didnt pot up in time, the roots grow extremely long filling up the entire cup. The moment I added mono PK fertiliser and fresh soil mix, the pink discoloration disappeared.

Many types of pepper plants produce coloration in their foliage. The Puma pepper is a colorful garden addition. I’m sure that light spectrum and nutrients have an effect, but this is a genetic thing. Some genetic variations will occur within any variety. If it was common and unexpected in more than one plant, then it could be other factors, not all of which are bad. Cold temperatures are a factor, normally at night. High light intensity can add to it, but reducing light isn’t normally necessary, as this is not sunburn, and yiu don’t have enough light to come near causing it, unless you’re using high wattage HID lighting amd it’s close enough to cause burns. Use light spectrum and intensity to adjust internodal spacing and stem thickness. The only real problem that it could be is a phosphorus deficiency, which isn’t generally a concern with bagged soils. Quite often, the soil has plenty of phosphorus, but it is bound to other minerals. I like to add a product containing seaweed (minerals & growth hormones) and Fulvic acid (chelating agent that helps absorption of minerals and other nutrients). This will help your plants and yeild regardless of what is causing g the coloration.
