  1. At the moment in BC it’s just products from red states. Bourbon from Kentucky, vodka from Texas, and rum from Florida, etc. I’m sure the wine will be next.

As an American I say good. What an utter embarrassment we are.

  3. The article says liquor, not wine. And it said specifically red state liquor. California is a very blue state.

    The way to go.

    and Australia, NZ, Chile, ,…

Red state wine (whine) is not the good stuff. Our wine exports should be ok as long as that red state qualifier holds.

    Maybe time to stock up?

Wine producers in California, Washington, Oregon, and New York predominantly lean blue. If they focus exclusively on targeting red states, it could drive up wine prices.

Please send any unwanted Oregon Pinot to me. I’ll gladly take it off their hands.

  8. Rhones and Barolo and Rioja and Champagne and Prosecco and Cava for all the Canadians!

It’s all American wine in my Canadian Province. I’m on board but it hurts a little, I won’t even lie.

Canadian, french, Spanish wines… the world is ours to enjoy while american wineries lose market share of one of their best partners… so sad.

All of the major wine producing regions of US are blue. CA, WA, OR, NY.
Article states red states only impacted.

Yeah, the US did the same with French wine when we switched from French fries to Freedom fries. Absolutely destroyed the French wine industry… we showed them!!!

Oh yeah, no it didn’t. They just laughed at us for being so juvenile.

What % of wine in New India is imported from the U.S.?

  14. The inventory is already paid for. They aren’t dumping it down the sink. This is a kind of virtue signaling.

  15. It’d be very American to think that somehow other countries won’t react in some way that can be considered punishing the US, but I think most Americans realize this was likely to happen.

I really worry about the US wine industry in the next year or two. Why would foreign consumers come back to US wines after they ditch them? Not like they compete on price and good wine is increasingly available from more countries.

  16. Just bought some Burrowing Owl myself. Doing my bit I suppose.
