Krug 164:

Haven’t had this in a little while. This was drinking phenomenally tonight. Some brioche and Meyer lemon curd on the nose, with immense power on the palate with crisp but not overwhelming acidity and a superb finish. This is just one of the best champagnes out there right now.

2017 Anne Gros Richebourg

This initially had a little medicinal note on the nose, with a streak of cranberries and some floral notes, but a bit of spice box and pure fruits on the palate and long finish. Over the course of several hours open the nose expanded to a lovely bouquet of fruit and spice and the palate blossomed and the finish lengthened. Likely a few more years would help here, but this is a fantastic wine with a ton of potential.

At Morcilla Pittsburgh. Fantastic food and service. More Pittsburgh wine events to come this year!

  2. Grew up in Pittsburgh and love seeing your posts… no longer live in the area but get up there to visit couple times a year and hope to check out one of your events some time

For sure, I’ll be doing a lot more events; once I get the next bigger one organized I’ll post about it here!
