I got an A5 wagyu strip steak BMS 9 from Hokkaido today. This will be my third time having A5 wagyu in my life. I've had a ribeye from Kagoshima and also olive wagyu ribeye. This cost me $130 from wagyushop.com. I will be sharing this with my brother and nephew on Saturday. Pics and description will come that day.

I’m sure the first bite into that will be incredible. Second bite, enjoyable, flavourful. But it’s by the third bite that I’d personally want to stop eating, I reckon.

  3. what is your plan for that meal? what will you have with it, supplementing with more normal beef too?

I hope it is awesome! I just had wagyu for the first time a few months ago and I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever had. And I have had a lot of steak in my life. Got it while in OKC at a place called Birdies. I highly recommend checking that place out if you are in the area. Very unassuming from the outside, but incredible food and service.

If you don’t post after pics (and bonus for how you seasoned and cooked) I will be sad. You don’t know me, but don’t make an internet stranger sad

  11. That’s like 10/90, 10% being meat, 90% being fat. Enjoy your fat!

I’ve never known the birthday of any animal I’ve eaten

  13. poor man’s A5: buy choice ribeye, trim fat, only cook and eat what you just trimmed off

So the decision is : do I frame the certificate or the steak?

How old is the nephew, not to be rude, but don’t waste good steak on kids haha. They would prefer chicken nuggets.

    How thick is it?
I got some A5 waygu once, but the steak was so thin that once cooked, it just tasted like eating straight up oil.

How are you gonna cook it or are you gonna just lick it frozen like a meat popsicle?
