Alma Rosa Winery hosting awareness walk

Alma Rosa Winery on Saturday, May 17, will host its 6th annual Peace of Mind: 10,000 Steps in the Right Direction walk and luncheon to raise awareness and funds for mental health research and treatment.

Members of the community are invited to walk a 4.5-mile course that includes three rigorous quarter-mile inclines across Alma Rosa’s 628-acre estate located in Santa Barbara County’s Sta. Rita Hills near Buellton.

Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine and other non-alcoholic refreshments at the top of the estate, while taking in the sweeping hilltop views of the region.

Following the walk, the winery will host an intimate reception with current releases from Alma Rosa and additional winery partners, including The Hilt Estate, Peake Ranch Winery and Clementine Carter. Additional refreshments and snacks will be provided by sponsors including Starbucks in Buellton and Suzy Zimmerman State Farm Insurance.

All proceeds from the event, including 100% of the registration fee, will benefit the One Mind and the Mental Wellness Center of Santa Barbara. In addition, Bob and Barb Zorich, owners of Alma Rosa, will be matching donations dollar for dollar, and up to $35,000 for each charity, an event spokeswoman said.

Early bird pricing ($50/person) is now available through April 15. Regular pricing ($60/person) will run from April 16 to May 16, with registration closing before midnight.
