Last week I tried Community Goods $8? I think (Beverly Grove) and it felt like the first time because I haven’t been in at least a year and a half.
This week I tried DAMO $7.50 (Koreatown) for the first time.
DAMO has the better matcha. It’s earthier, richer, more “matcha”-esque without the insane crowds.
Community Goods matcha is good but you can subtly taste the lower quality or at least, less matcha used which makes the drink a bit more diluted and less flavorful.
The cream top at Community Goods is better because it’s a bit sweeter but also salted to offer a few levels of flavors when drinking with the matcha. The DAMO cream top is plain, not even sweet, but it is creamier and thicker.
