I second bad school renditions ruining food. I had quinoa for the first time in school. I heard that it was healthy and pretty good. I tried it, and it tasted like sand. What I later learned, when I gave it another try elsewhere, was that it was undercooked. I can't imagine what else anyone has missed out on due to something literally leaving a bad taste in their mouths.
