  1. Yo this happened to mine after several years. I think it’s because it wasn’t dried after washing it and those marks are where water got trapped.

Knife acne. It needs to be better about changing it’s pillowcase regularly.

Pitting – usually caused by putting in the dishwasher, letting it soak in the sink, or not cleaning immediately after cutting highly acidic foods.

It’s the early stages of pitting corrosion. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion because of the oxide layer that forms on the outside. When you get water or condensation on the surface, especially if there are any impurities in it, the droplets evaporate and concentrate the impurities to the point they can dissolve the oxide layer and and allow the underlying metal to rust (which is why the dots are darker in the center).

It can probably be buffed off, but if not you could VERY CAREFULLY use a small amount of acidic stainless steel cleaner on the spots. Don’t use too much if you go this route because it can damage the steel and the edge. Once you’ve cleaned it off give it at least 24 hours for the surface to re-passivate, then make sure you dry it properly going forward.

Soft scrub and cork to apply it. Definitely not barkeepers that’s crazy

Always hand wash your knives and do it immediately after you’re done using it.

Full blown AIDS man! Keep it away from the others!

  8. How do you wash and dry your knives? If you live in a very humid climate, once washed and dried, use a paper towel to put a light oil barrier on your knives to keep humidity pitting at bay.

Your knife isn’t vaccinated and got a serious case of measles

  10. Everyone Shhh, op it’s slowly becoming Damascus
