A new Mediterranean restaurant is opening in the city of West Hollywood. Mare E Monti Ristorante is coming to the former Five Guys Burgers space located at 8731 Santa Monica Boulevard in the Rainbow District.
Owner and chef Nima tells WEHO TIMES he doesn’t have an opening date yet, but he hopes to open in the next couple of weeks. He removed the brown paper from the storefront glass today to show the public what he’s been up to for the past several months. He says the paper was glued to the glass because it has not been touched for the past four years. Five Guys Burgers closed in 2021.

Nima says he’ll offer a seasonal menu to keep things fresh and he plans to switch it up every three months. He hasn’t decided on the hours at this time, but he is considering opening past 9pm, depending on what the situation is with the homeless population in WeHo, which he says makes him a little nervous.
The restaurant is currently waiting on a liquor license. He plans to offer valet parking to help with the limited parking in the area and he says he hopes the West Hollywood community welcomes his new small business.
“I’m very excited,” he said. “I’m also a little nervous. I don’t know how West Hollywood will respond. I’m not from around here, but I have restaurants in the South Bay and in San Pedro. West Hollywood was recommended to me. I believe the way we prepare food is different. It’s like home. We will serve pastas, braised short ribs and the quality will be very good.”

He says he will have a soft opening as soon as he gets fully staffed. He may start with just being open for lunch to test things out.
The new space has been elevated from the burger joint to a more elegant atmosphere with wood finishings, soft lighting, booths, and a front patio area.
Details on an opening date are coming soon.
