Called Mélange, the new restaurant takes its name from the French word for ‘a varied mixture’ and will be located within Red Hall Hotel on the site that was formerly Oscar’s.

Its menu is described as capturing ‘the essence of the Med’s vibrant cuisine while honouring the comforting traditions of British dining’ with dishes that will include lamb infused with spices; warm goat’s cheese salad with red wine-poached pear; and Mediterranean-style seafood risotto as well as sharing platters of mezze and charcuterie.

British favourites will also feature, including buttermilk fried chicken; and beef wellington and the restaurant’s signature dish will be a tapenade served in a mortar and pestle with freshly baked bread.

Design features of the 80-cover restaurant will be natural textures and a colour palette of soft blues and sandy beiges.

“Mélange is about celebrating the warmth of family and friends, the joy of sharing good times, and creating lasting memories,” say owners Priyanka and Gourav Batra.

“It’s where British tradition meets Mediterranean flair, bringing love, life, and laughter to the table. We’ve created a space where every meal feels like a celebration, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

Mélange opens its doors this month.
