We spy a new hot spot. The Greek Bar, a new venture for restaurateurs and husband-and-wife duo Dimitri Karabinis and Daphne Greer, will begin welcoming guests on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Travis Heights neighborhood.

Come hungry for a Mediterranean feast, from zesty spreads and shareable mezze to hearty dishes like the “Big Fat Greek Fried Chicken” and whole grilled sea bass. Plus, fill up your table with vegetable-driven sides, wine imported from Greece, handcrafted cocktails, and sweet treats like baklava and Greek donuts. Happy hour and weekend brunch are coming soon.

Take a look inside

The interior of The Greek Bar in Austin, Texas. The space has terra cotta tiles, beige brick walls, and plants hanging over the bar. The bar stools are backless and black, and there is a shelving behind the bar with plants, ceramics, and more decor.

Grab a seat at the bar and peruse the cocktail menu, which utilizes Greek spirits and ingredients like thyme, kalamata olives, pomegranate, and Greek yogurt.

The interior, executed by lauded designer Luke Havekes, incorporates original saltillo tiles and terra cotta elements to replicate Greek tavernas. It’s anchored by a plant-adorned bar with glass lamps hanging overhead, and there’s plenty of seating on the patio of the pale blue building.
