Friendship and food are life’s two greatest joys, often best enjoyed together. Today, let me share with you all a special recipe from Burma (Myanmar) that I learned from my very dear friend @aswinnlhilla ‘s grandmother.
Years ago, many Indians and Bengalis made their way to Burma. Ashwin’s grandfather was a businessman there, but they moved to Kolkata in the mid-20th century due to political turmoil. And @aswinnlhilla ‘s grandmother brought with her the delicious recipe of making Burmese Khowsuey to Kolkata ♥️
Khowsuey is a one-bowl meal made with noodles and veggies simmered in creamy coconut milk, topped with an array of flavorful condiments. A splash of lemon adds a zesty kick to each bite.
It’s incredibly tasty, creamy, soupy and makes for the perfect dish for a rainy day.
P.S. This dish can also be made with chicken, but here’s the classic vegetarian version from Ashwin’s grandmother, and it’s absolutely delicious!
Stay tuned for the detailed recipe video.
