Hey everyone, beginner 🍅 grower here! I just noticed the first set of flowers starting to grow from the tomato plant I grew from seed last late January. My worry is the plant is about 9 inches tall from the stem above soil which I fear is still too small to fruit? Please correct me if I’m wrong about this. Should I pinch off these flowers for now or let them be?

The variety is called Athena and the seed packet did not have any other information. I googled and I got mixed answers as to whether it’s determinate or indeterminate which is very confusing! Thanks for all the help.

Yes, pinch the flowers, and any lower leaves. Then your plant will grow up and out. When growing flowers, plants put all growing energy toward flowers.

If it’s in its final spot I wouldn’t. If you are going to transplant then maybe.
