Another question is why it says chicken sausage then pork in the ingredients.

Update: did some research, it seems like it’s definitely 400. I wonder if they have a special chicken sausage version. If so i would love to try it.

if you’re looking for a lower cal McMuffin the bacon one is usually lower 🙂 here in Canada we have a Canadian bacon on for less cals than the sausage

  3. Ah, so Sausage McMuffins are generally pork in the original recipe, and the Chicken Sausage variation is for markets that have a significant Muslim population to maintain halal status, such as South East Asia.

Also the overall chicken sausage sandwich is smaller, about the size of a person’s palm, and about two and a half finger width thick.

In terms of taste, some friends colloquially mention that pork variations are tastier, and others think the exact opposite depending on which one they are used to, the new experience tends to seem better. But honestly no one’s really walking into McDonald’s for the “exquisite taste experience”, personally I don’t notice the difference between variations overseas, McDonald’s is just reliable to taste a certain way.
