    Honestly if it’s prepped for burgers at a restaurant – this sucks. I’d like it but it’s not how you prep onion slices.

  6. What are we using these onions for? Tacos? Burgers? Burritos?

    Regardless, this would cause an issue with product inventory, too, because if you’re budgeting one slice per burger (I guess), then with this cut, you’re using 300% more than anticipated.

    Also, the knifework is sloppy.

    Your co-worker has it right. All onions are amazing but damn it if red onions don’t have my heart. Such a great flavor profile.

    For raw red onions, I don’t want giant chunks, personally. I’d prefer more thin slices than this thick slice.

    Good for onion rings, but I guess those would be yellow or white onions instead of red, right?

  12. It would be more inclusive to slice them thin and allow the individual to decide how high to pile them.

    Enlightenment cannot be forced onto others. They must find the glorious path through their own experience.

    As an onion lover myself, I would eat that as is with some seasoned salt, but the 14+ years as a cook is fuckin furious…

    this would be like the perfect for dipping for onion rings but a little uneven for sandwiches and such. I would like that amount of onion but I’d like it in multiple thin layers. easier to eat

    lol! I’d make them work on their knife skills or make em use a mandolin (unless those are for onion rings, then they’re perfect imo)
