Mediterranean cafe comes to Republic Road

Crave Mediterranean Cafe, 1111 E. Republic Road, is aiming for a grand opening in November. Its soft opening was Oct. 18. The new restaurant serves Middle Eastern cuisine as well as Greek dishes, including hummus, gyros, kabob and falafel.

Middle Eastern food truck to close at end of October

3rabiana, 2336 S. Campbell Ave., announced that it would “most likely be closing” at the end of October, according to a Facebook post.

“We appreciate you keeping us in business and it was pleasure serving you our delicious food,” the Facebook post said.

The food truck opened in 2021 and is known for its falafel, shawarma and other authentic Middle Eastern dishes.

Italian spot on C-Street closes

Cafe Basilico, 306 E. Commercial St., announced this week on Facebook that it has closed its doors.

“We have had a great 6 years serving Springfield on Commercial Street. We will miss all our faithful travelers and foodies. Thank you all who have graced our establishment and made lifelong connections, words cannot express our gratitude,” the Facebook post said. “We are excited for the future and with that comes new opportunities.”

The space at 306 E. Commercial St. is now available for lease.

Asian restaurant opens under new ownership

Teriyaki House, 1128 S. Glenstone Ave., is having a grand re-opening on Nov. 1. According to a Facebook event and post in the Eat Springfield MO/Springfield Restaurants Facebook group, the restaurant is under new ownership.

According to a recorded message at the phone number listed for the restaurant, it is open from 4 to 11:30 p.m. daily.
