I ate at daisies and did not complain about the auto service charge or saw roaches
Daisies is all around a good experience – unique, sustainable, good service, fresh foods etc. some of the best pasta I’ve had.

They have the best damn bakery. I live around the corner and that’s all I eat from there. Can’t handle the 25% autograt and when I was looking for a job they requested that servers have a sommelier degree.

I love Daisies. Always had great food and service there, so I guess that’s why I’m not bothered by the service charge. Plus, they also tell you about it when you make a reservation, when you walk in, etc. Pretty much any chance they get. But yeah, Daisies rules and both of those dishes are awesome.

What’s sustainable about it? Genuinely curious what that means

I’ve been there a few times now. Always had great service and the food was amazing.
I totally do not understand the hate this place gets. Or is that the 4th visit?

You did not saw roaches?? Not clear what you mean

Idc what anyone says, daisies is solid and they have unique and simple but tasty pasta dishes. Also, most things are sub 30 bucks on the menu.. and for that it makes the 25% auto grat worth it
Oh-Hunny
I’ve always had a great experience at Daisies. Not sure why this subreddit has such a massive hate boner for it. There are plenty of restaurants that have an autograt.

Just increase your menu items by 25% and stop trying to trick your customers into spending more money. It’s not complicated.

Love Daisies, but I do have a slight issue with the rate. I always tip 20%, everywhere. Does that mean that I’m now considered a cheapskate?
At some point, the tipping rate can’t just keep rising. I don’t think tipping people 40, 50, 60% of a meal’s cost is reasonable.

Hey, that looks delicious! What is the dish in the first picture?

So good I can bear the 25% for a special occasion

When you say you didn’t complain about the service charge, is that to say you paid both a 25% service charge and a 20% tip?

Small plates are not “great for sharing.” They are the opposite.

Huge fan of Daisies despite what this subreddit hive mind says about it. The bakery is great too

I love Daisies! Their new spot is gorgeous and I’ve never had a bad meal there. Didn’t realize they had that reputation :/

yeah i’ve never understood the hate it gets here. it’s legitimately my husband’s and my favorite restaurant in the city. always reliably delicious, not impossible to get a res at within the week. always impresses out of town guests to boot. husband did once miss the service charge and tipped 20% on top of that- which made for a very high bill. I feel for the servers if they aren’t getting a full regular tip out of the fee but that’s definitely on the restaurant to solve.

You didn’t see the roaches, but how did they taste? /s
I’ve gotten takeout a couple times from Daisies, and I ate there once. I didn’t like the entrees, but I really liked the appetizers and hope to go again some time. Glad you enjoyed it.
I won’t argue/debate about the service charge, but my experience with the staff there has been great.
