How did I do? Just pan seared then butter basted. It came out a little overdone for my liking, but I was proud of it nonetheless.
Also, other pan was out of commission so dutch oven it was lol.

  1. How did the Dutch oven do? Was the heat even? Was it difficult to bast?

Looks great, I’m wondering how your guts handled that though after being vegetarian. Lol

I’d eat it. I bet after 10 years, your stomach didn’t thank you… but your body will.

A little overdone for me, but not by a lot, and looks juicy, bet it was delicious. Welcome home

You’re about to experience the nutrient “high”.

I’m surprised you started with steak, I couldn’t (after six years of being vegetarian) stomach red meat for a few months at first. I was also pregnant, though so that didn’t help.

I’ve always thought about cooking one in a crockpot! Cool to see the results.

Mmm I’m gonna pick up some steak on my way home to honor all the vegetarians out there now.

    Good looking steak.

How’s it feel knowing that as a former vegetarian you’ve done better than some meat-lifers on here?

Man I will never understand how to cook a steak this good, it looks perfect to me. I always just a ruin a slab of burnt meat or cook it for 20 minutes just to find it raw and there’s never a middle ground, but goddamn do I feel like Im vicariously eating good ones when I browse this sub

Can I ask what it was like eating meat again after not consuming meat for so long? Did your body react any differently or were you good? Just out of interest.
