Yes. As a bone in steak. I prefer mr over rare

Depends on how hungry I am. If not very I’d eat around the edge and take the rest home. Otherwise I’d ask for another minute on each side.

That’s not medium rare, as you requested it. Send it back

My personal taste, I would have to have it go back for at least med rare. That’s black and blue

  5. shortsbettercover

Hell yeah. I like mine med rare thats rare almost blue

  6. OrlandoOpossum

I prefer ribeyes a tad more towards medium, but to each their own

If the fat isn’t rendered, it goes back to the kitchen

  8. ncpowderhound

No. I’d be afraid they would overcook it when I sent it back. Undercooked is less of an issue for me than overcooked.

    I….am conflicted.

It’s not what you wanted, so of course send it back.

But it looks like something I would want, so…

Prior steakhouse server and bartender here

We know what the different levels are supposed to look like, and when it is done wrong WE are mad for you. Assuming the ticket was written correctly, the server is fuming that the kitchen is messing with their livelihood (tips).

Additionally, going up on temp is easy, so never feel as bad sending it back to bump it up 10-15°.. much easier than the people that would ask for well done, then be upset it didn’t have any pink in the middle 🙃 (especially when I tell them what it will look like when they order.. MW has a light pink strip, W has no pink)

No need. I’m sure it can walk back on its own.

  12. On a side note, why do people put chunks of butter on ribeye steaks. It’s basically the fattiest steak you can get. That is the point of the steak, and there is still a constant desire to put butter on top of this. I never understood this. I can rationalize a small amount of an herb compound butter. But even then I just don’t think the extra fat is necessary for a ribeye.

Don’t worry about sending it back. It’s about to get up and walk away anyway.

  14. dgraveling

Send it back if it’s not what you ordered simples !!

I mean, that’s definitely not medium rare, so if that’s what you wanted then yes. Me personally? That’s how I want all of my steaks to look whether I make them myself or not. You couldn’t pry that out of my cold dead hands

  16. LukeCrane

Charley’s in FL did that???? I’ve been to the one in Tampa and Orlando multiple times and never had that kind of experience. I would definitely send it back and speak to the manager my dude.

100%. It’s so cold the butter doesn’t even melt

  18. sch1zoph_

If that chef considers THIS as a medium rare then I’mma send this back to make the new one well done.

  19. CyberHaxer

It’s frozen. Or was frozen before they put it on the grill, hence it being 100% raw inside.
