Does that school want the kids napping immediately after eating? Jesus

  2. Looks like a cat took a poop in the rice. r/poopfromabutt

You obviously have Michelin-star chefs at schools there. Pretty darn tasty looking compared to some of the slop I’ve seen at US institutions.

  4. Gravy or golden curry? I mean I’m a grown adult and will make a chicken and rice burrito with frozen nuggets when I’m lazy so I’d unfortunately smash this

At least in British schools children can be trusted with proper cutlery. Here in the f***ed up US (more f***ed up than usual) we’d be relegated to a plastic spork.

That better be ethically sourced with a hi-viz vest issued while eating

And that is why I opted to eat the 50p bread rolls and just go for coffee after school instead .-.

I’m American and ts looks so much better than some of the slop were fed

Just reminded me of the chicken curry they served when I was in primary school, still remember it being decent and some good plastic cutlery to go with it. Seems to have gone downhill since then, that looks crap

  10. Even without using pounds i can tell this is the uk.

I see shitty school cafeteria lunches are universal and timeless.

Meatballs in curry. Could be more sauce but for 2 pounds, thats about 18 danish crowns , i think its fair to get that . Its a very commond dish here , a lot of kids loves it..come to think of it we havent had it for a while so now i know what we are having tomorrow, thank you.

  13. Our school lunch used to look like this. Until a bakery opened shop across the street/bridge over a creek. Officially, only teachers and students 18+ were allowed to go and leave the school area. Then the complaints from parents whose kids came home with wet clothes started to flow in, which resulted in a teacher always being on watch at the bridge during recess and, eventually, the cafeteria to seriously step up their game. Suddenly, there were more options, soups, salads and snacks, better sandwiches and a larger selection of beverages. This was 30 years ago, the bakery is long gone, but current students still enjoy the improvements. 🙂

  14. I weirdly wouldn’t be upset by this lol. I’ve eaten way worse and there are probably options that could’ve been picked up as well

holy shit that looks, SO much better than what we got in school. You’re telling me she gets plates?? and actual silverware???

we got prison trays, unrecognizable slop, and plastic packaged plastic utensils.

this is amazing, I actually tell that there is rice and chicken in there. Unbelievable.

back in the day, they would spoon something onto your tray, and no matter how much you tried, if you didnt read what it was, you would have no idea what in the hell was just put onto that tray. I mean it was alien food, completely unrecognizable as anything that is supposed to be ingested.

Looks good to me. And very cheap for that amount of food too. It’s better than anything my school had available in the early 00s.

I can taste that parboiled rice from here. Devoid of any of the delicious fragrances rice is usually known for.

Don’t need to brag. Haven’t had turds and gravy for years

  19. brendamrl

For two pounds that looks good ngl, I love rice so I’m biased.

  20. Traditional_Betty

wow, that REALLY FITS the name of this group

  21. Not_obviously

Add more sauce and some salad and I’d eat this 100% and be real happy
