You should practice with cucumber imo, avocado is too soft and goes bad quickly, cucumber ones are always ideal
Also no, that’s no way too much rice, that amount is just right. I swear people on this subreddit have some really weird ideas about sushi. If you are looking for a 0.01mm strat of rice and a whole ass salad in the middle that’s not sushi, might wanna check out r/koreanfood and look for something called kimbap
