If you’re finding that it’s difficult to cook delicious homemade meals from scratch with minimal ingredients, Jamie Oliver has come to prove you wrong as one of his latest recipes has become an instant winner with fans. Jamie himself described it as “the most delicious” pasta, and you likely have all the ingredients in your cupboard already. The tasty Mediterranean meal is part of his new cookbook ‘Five Ingredients Mediterranean’, which makes huge promises of “simple incredible food.”
Jamie posted the recipe on TikTok so you can follow along, and he started by chopping 600g of tomatoes in half. He then said: “Take half of the tomato and just gently rub it [on a grater].” The juice of the tomato is then gathered in a bowl.

He then put a “couple of tablespoons of olive oil into a pan”, then he got two cloves of garlic, chopped it, and then put it in the oil. He then got “half a bunch of fresh parsley”, finely slicing the stalks. He said: “As that garlic just slightly starts to colour, I’m going to put in the stalks of the parsley.”
“I’m now going to go in with the beautiful fresh tomatoes, look at that”, he said. He then put water in the mixture, to the same volume as the grated tomatoes. He then chopped the rest of the parsley whilst “letting it rain orzo”, which is a form of short-cut pasta, shaped like a large grain of rice, and can be purchased from Tesco for as little as £1.20. Jamie then added salt and pepper, putting the lid on so it could cook for “about 12 to 14 minutes.”

He then added the chopped parsley once it had been cooked and was “tender.” Jamie said: “Now, the real twist in the tale”, as he began to grate halloumi into the dish, saying that it “oozes into the pasta”, finishing it off with a glug of olive oil. He then grated some extra halloumi on the top of the dish in “long strokes” with some sprigs of parsley.
In the comments, people praised the dish, with one writing: “As a Cypriot, who loves anything halloumi this looks lovelyyyyy – plus Oasis in the background make it literally chefs kiss.” Another said: “Halloumi on pasta is top tier. It’s my comfort food for sure! But as a Greek Cypriot that’s a given!”
